The Center of Excellence for Alzheimer's Disease (CEAD) serves 15 counties with an approximate land area consisting of 16,000 square miles. Cities within this area include Syracuse, Binghamton, Watertown, and Utica.

Currently in New York State people age 65 and older with Alzheimer’s disease total 390,000 and this number is projected to increase to 460,000 by 2025.
